The serene and beautifully manicured grounds of the Walnut Hill estate offers an intimate setting to host your wedding weekend or event from May through November. Located just twenty-five minutes northwest of Portland in the quiet town of North Yarmouth, the custom-designed gardens and four green acres provide an enchanting setting for your celebration. The attached 19th-century barn and farmhouse have been thoughtfully restored and renovated to capture the charm of time past while simultaneously offering modern amenities to facilitate flawless events.

THE BARN

With its two and a half story vaulted ceiling and open 1,800 square feet of entertaining space, Walnut Hill comfortably accommodates between 125-200 guests depending on your layout and event agenda. Crowned by the original rooftop cupola, the post and beam structure is warmly lit by hand-wrought chandeliers and dragonfly-etched sconces. The former chicken coop, fully open to the barn, is now home to an elegant bar featuring a two tap draught system, crafted from reclaimed barn wood and Carrera marble and furnished with vintage tractor seat stools and a large soapstone sink. Two pairs of French doors, accessible by both the barn and bar, open on to a classic granite patio (which can be tented) for savoring cocktails in view of manicured grounds or a breath of fresh Maine air. Special features in our unique 19th-century space include modernized amenities like separate power for sound systems and extra lighting and a heating and cooling system to keep guests comfortable in any temperature.

THE FARMHOUSE

Imbued with classic Maine style, the sophisticated 3,000 square foot farmhouse, profiled in two nationally published design magazines, offers fully furnished accommodations for out-of-town guests that are delightfully serene and romantic. Five exquisitely appointed bedrooms comfortably sleep up to twelve guests. The stocked professional kitchen and butler’s pantry, formal dining and living rooms, and dinner service for up to twenty-four guests, make entertaining easy and elegant. THE GROUNDS

The meticulously manicured grounds of Walnut Hill are dotted with custom-designed perennial gardens and shaded by soaring and far-reaching trees. Ample space abounds; four green acres provide room for a tent should you desire one. A pickle ball/paddle tennis court invites spirited competition while the plein-air woodland sanctuary, accessible by a meandering boardwalk, offers a unique space for your ceremony. A generously sized deck with chic outdoor furnishings and a gas grill is the perfect spot to lounge midday or indulge in an outdoor feast.
